This is a 2 year fixed term Postdoctoral Fellowship contract in our Biology – Insect Control Research department where you will be given the opportunity to develop new skills while working at the cutting edge of science and innovation. We are seeking a Biologist for the evaluation and characterization of biological insecticides, providing knowledge and insight to the research, development and business teams on technical and scientific aspects in the Insect BioControls area.
The position includes desk work (approx. 40%) and lab/greenhouse work (approx. 60%). Some limited business travel may be required.
•Scientific analysis and evaluation of 3rd party biological insecticides offers and opportunities
•Support informed decision making in BioControls Opportunity Review Team by close interaction with colleagues from different disciplines (product biology, product safety, IP) in Insect Control
•Develop, adapt, and optimize methods for biological insecticide discovery, profiling and characterization in Insect Control Research Biology Group
•Establish and interpret biological profiles for BioControls offers and opportunities
•Ensure documentation and organization of data
•Proactive and continued scientific analysis of literature in BioControls space
•Ensure integration of technical and science based innovations into biological profiling and bring forward own innovation ideas based on entomology expertise
Knowledge, experience & capabilities
•PhD in biology or agronomy disciplines
•Good knowledge of English language written and spoken (level B2-C1), good German language skills
•Good knowledge of insect pests behaviour, life cycle, and general biology
•Good knowledge of biological control agents
•Experience in scientific approaches (designing, implementing, and evaluating scientific experiments, knowledge access)
•Practical experience in laboratory environment, preferably with pests and plants and biological control agents
•Experience in multi-disciplinary projects and project management
•Experience with data storage, reporting, analysis, and visualization tools
