Postdoctoral Scholarship / Entomology-RNAi

A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Entomology at the
University of Kentucky to work on developing feasible approaches for employing RNA interference (RNAi) for suppression of the highly invasive emerald ash borer (EAB), a tree-killing pest. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting laboratory and greenhouse experiments, data analysis, and preparation of results suitable for presentations and publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The candidate will focus on developing applied methods for dsRNA delivery, as well as dsRNA design and synthesis to improve efficiency of RNAi in this insect. Opportunities will be available to engage in developing and managing grants, supervising students, and attending and presenting at scientific meetings.
