A postdoctoral research associate position is available to conduct industry-supported research in the laboratory of Dr. Bryony C. Bonning in the Department of Entomology at Iowa State University. The project deals with modification of toxins derived from Bacillus thuringiensis for enhanced toxicity against selected insect pests (See N.P. Chougule et al., 2013 Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA). The appointment will be for one year initially with potential for renewal. Salary will be a minimum of $43,050 according to experience.

Qualifications: Applicants should have a PhD in entomology, microbiology, biochemistry or a related area, research experience with insects and solid molecular biology and biochemistry skills. Experience with insect physiology and Bt toxins advantageous.
