Our primary goal is to understand the role of saliva in blood feeding and pathogen transmission by arthropods, using a two-pronged approach of functional studies of recombinant proteins and gene-editing via CRISPR/Cas9. Successful postdoctoral fellow will work in the characterization of salivary molecules from blood feeding arthropods and their effect on vertebrate hemostasis and pathogen transmission. This position requires significant scientific judgment and advanced academic qualifications. Selected candidate is expected to conduct complex bench work and technical analysis in the fields of biochemistry, vascular biology and immunology among others. This position is for an initial one (1) year contract with a maximum length of four (4) years based on performance and fund availability.
