Areas of Expertise:
Insect physiology and biochemistry

Research Organisms:
Sitotroga cerealella

Research Focus:

Our lab is working on Insects biochemistry and physiology. We are working on insect growth and reproductive related genes like chitin synthases and egg genes. We used botanical extract and formulate new biopesticides and RNAi techniques to alter insect physiology, morphology and reproduction. We studied the molecular mechanism of insect reproduction-related pathways. We investigated the endocrine signalling pathways Juvenile Hormones and ecdysteroid hormones and its relationship with insect reproduction and molecular regulation, to develop new strategies for insect control.
