Areas of Expertise:
Molecular genetics and philogenetics, transgenic organisms, Drosophila developmental biology, biochemistry, systematics (Scoliidae, Cassidinae)

Research Organisms:
Scoliidae (Hymenoptera), Cassidinae (Coleoptera), Drosophila (Diptera)

Research Focus:

Currently, my research focuses on the structure, function and expression of long noncoding and circular RNAs; epigenetic; the involvement of transposable elements in nuclear and mitochondrial genome instability and evolution; identification of novel mitochondrial genes in insects, evolutionary and technological implications of functional fragmentation of mitochondrial genes, and molecular phylogenetics of Scoliidae.
