This full-time research specialist will help build and support a brand-new neuroscience lab in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY). The lab manager participates in independent and ongoing research projects, as well as assists with general lab management. Experimental duties are highly variable, but may include: Drosophila genetics and behavior, immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, micro dissection, and a variety of basic molecular biological procedures such as DNA and RNA isolation, PCR and cloning. Lab technician duties include: maintaining laboratory Drosophila stocks, ordering supplies and reagents, overseeing safety protocols, preparing common lab solutions and assisting in the training of new lab members. Lead small (2-3) teams of undergraduate research assistants. This is a full-time, 2 yr. term position with the possibility of extension.
