The IGTRCN will aggregate knowledge related to insect genetic technologies and insect functional genomics in general. Protocols and procedures used in your laboratory that you are willing to share would be perfect additions to this knowledgebase and you are encouraged to provide them in the form of a “post” to Knowledgebase.

If there is knowledge you would like the IGTRCN to aggregate, either post your request or contact the Director or any Knowledgebase Working Group member.

Posting is easy if you are a registered participant: login and use the SUBMISSIONS button; follow the simple instructions. Becoming a participant is equally easy: create an account and register as a participant using the buttons found on most pages.

You can also comment on existing contributions to correct, critique, amend or add to that post.

Genome Size Estimates – Sevices Available

Do not guess the size of your organism’s genome size. Genomes sizes vary widely, even between closely related species. It is common for informed guesstimates to be off by 20 % t0 300%. How then can you make informed decisions […]

    Hessian Fly Polytene FISH

Cytogenetic analysis using FISH in combination with polytene chromosome preparations is a powerful tool. Characterization of genetically modified insects can benefit greatly from this type of analysis. Here is a protocol used for Hessian Fly Polytene FISH analysis provided by […]
