Compendium of Fly Methods – Good for Other Insect Biologists

Elsevier has recently published a volume of Methods dedicated to Drosophila developmental biology tools.  These include general tools such a forward genetic tools as well as genome engineering tools among others. Another section focuses on tools and methods for studying cellular processes such as immunity and metablolism.  The third section is dedicated to tools for studying signaling pathways such as MAPK and JAK/STAT.  Finally these is a section on tools and methods for studying tissues and organs like spermatogenesis, oogenesis, hematopoesis etc.

This is really an excellent resource not only for Drosophila researchers but for all insect scientists and is worth reading.
