A position for Laboratory Scientist/Manager is available from July 2017 in the lab of Dr. Adam CN Wong at the University of Florida Entomology and Nematology Department. The position is ideal for recent graduates interested in gaining hand-on experience to 1) establish and manage a lab, 2) apply microbiology, molecular and omics approaches to investigate insect-microbe interactions in Drosophila and other insects. The successful candidate will provide assistance in organizing laboratory equipment and supplies, preparing microbial cultures and gnotobiotic insects, conducting insect performance assays and molecular experiments. This is a one year appointment with possible extension depending on funding and performance. Training will be provided and the exact start date is negotiable.
